The 3 Wavelength Laser Hair Removal is presently the most advanced epilator in the world and offers different wavelengths to treat any skin type. The machine also has cooling technology to provide the most comfortable treatment experience. Using the ice handle on the most sensitive areas of the body ensures a totally pain-free hair removal treatment, while diode laser removal is adjusted to suit skin types and hair colours as follows:

  • 755nm wavelength (also known as Alexandrite Laser) is used for lighter coloured hair with a fine texture, for example on the upper lip and eyebrows
  • The 808nm (Diode Laser) setting is ideal for just about all hair types and penetrates right into subcutaneous fat tissue and deep dermis. It can be used on most areas of the body and provides a speedy and deep hair removal treatment
  • 1064nm (Long Pulsed ND: Yag) wavelength is better for dark hair colours and features lower melanin absorption and deeper penetration into hair follicles

How to Prepare
When it comes to laser hair removal there’s very little needed in terms of preparation, and we will be able to answer your questions during a consultation. That said, there are some things we may recommend to you before you come in for your treatment.

Avoid Waxing
The root of your hair should be present during treatment. Tweezing, waxing, or any hair grooming that removes the hair along with its root should be avoided, since it could interfere with laser treatment. It’s still fine to shave beforehand, although for best results you may want to put the razor down for 24 hours before you come in.

Clean Your Skin Without Lotion or Creams
Before you come in, make sure the skin you want to be treated is free of dirt or oil buildup. It’s a good idea to jump in the shower or bath before you have laser hair treatment. A clean surface will help the process work smoothly and quickly. On the day of your appointment, avoid using oils or fragrances on the area you’re going to have treated.

Take Extra Good Care of Your Skin
We recommend some skin pampering before you have your hair removed. A simple way you can do this is by using a daily sunblock, something that’s pretty beneficial whether you’re receiving laser hair treatment or not.

For a couple of days before you show up, try to avoid skin products that can increase photosensitivity. Some of these products can include:

  • Benzoyl peroxide
  • Hydroxy acids
  • Retinols
  • Salicylic acid

Treatment
During a consultation, we will make sure this treatment is a good fit for your needs. After that, we can schedule an appointment. Before we start, you’ll be able to point out the exact areas you’d like treated. Your comfort is a top priority for us, so we will be happy to answer any questions you have, and guide you through each step of the process.

After you put on special provided eyewear, we’ll start the laser treatment. How long it takes will depend on what part of the body is being treated. For instance, if you are having the area above your lip treated, you could potentially be done in minutes. Larger areas of the body naturally will take a little longer. Once you specify to us which areas you’d like treated, we’ll be able to give you a more accurate time estimate.

Recovery
Over a week or so, the hair over the treated skin is going to fall out. You should protect your treated skin from excessive heat for about 24 hours after your treatment, so hold off on the sauna or hot tub until at least a full day has passed. Avoid tanning beds for a couple of weeks after treatment, and apply sun protection when you head outside.

How Often Does Treatment Have to Be Repeated?
At first, you may notice some patchy hair growth coming in. This is completely normal, as the laser will have missed some of the hair follicles the first time around. You may need repeated treatments until you are completely happy with your results. We find a total of about 6-8 treatments spaced four to six weeks apart is just about right to get those ideal results.

After that, your visits can be reduced to the occasional touch-up. Passing time, hormonal fluctuations, and life changes can make some hair growth return, so these maintenance visits will be a way to keep your results exactly how you like them. Our team is happy to offer multiple packages to fit your treatments into your schedule.

Results
After your treatment series, you’ll be able to enjoy freedom from constantly having to shave, wax, and pluck. Rather than having to hop in the shower for a shave before you join an invitation to the beach, you’ll be able to just go without feeling self-conscious about unwanted hair growth.

We believe everyone should feel confident in and love their bodies, but for those who have unwanted hair, this treatment can give them a boost of confidence and a long-desired break from the tedious chore that hair grooming so often becomes.

Laser Hair Removal FAQ

An extensive amount of research has gone into the Soprano ICE Laser, which has been backed by a proven safety record. It was designed to be a good fit for as many people as possible. It does a great job, but its safety is even more of a priority than its abilities.

We are pleased to offer such a safe hair removal option, but we also understand the need for transparency. As such we are happy to answer your questions honestly. During a consultation, if we determine this isn’t going to be the right fit for you, we will let you know and work together with you to find an alternative that will better fit your needs.

One reason we love this laser is it works on all kinds of different skin tones. This separates it from some alternate lasers on the market. There are three different wavelengths that are commonly seen individually in lasers, each one with a slightly different specialty.

The fact that this laser uses all three wavelengths, including a wavelength that is better absorbed by the melanin present in hair roots, is part of what allows this laser to work effectively on both dark and light skin tones.

Yes, it will still work when you have a tan. We would be happy to give you some guidelines when it comes to using a tanning bed around the time of your laser treatment, as you may want to avoid the tanning bed for a couple of weeks after each session.

This laser is an excellent tool that works on a wide variety of different hair types, something that hadn’t really been seen before in a single laser. As you’re determining whether this treatment is the right one for you, something to keep in mind is this laser isn’t as effective when it comes to very light hair.

If you have light or white hair, there’s no need to fear. We are happy to offer alternatives and can go over your options with you.

This treatment can be done any time of year. Hair removal is commonly associated with the summer, but other times of year may be an especially good time to start your hair removal process. That way, you can have the results you want before beach season. After laser hair treatment, it’s recommended that you protect the treated area from the sun with a broad-spectrum sunblock.

Of course, using sunblock is always a good idea, but if you have laser hair treatment done during the winter, spring, or autumn, it will be easier to protect the treated areas from the sun.

If you have an easy time remembering to put on daily sunblock, getting this hair treatment done any time of year shouldn’t be a problem for you. If you want less hassle, having it done during a season when you’re more out of the sun may be a good choice for you.
